Healthwatch Wakefield

We are the independent champion in Wakefield District for people who use health and social care services.
We are here to find out what matters to people and help make sure their views shape the support they need, by sharing these views with those who have the power to make change happen.
Our aim is to help people get the best out of health and care services.
To do this we:
- provide people with the advice, information, signposting and support they need.
- gather their views and experiences.
- give them a voice to influence the design and delivery of services.
We also find out what people think through research and engagement.
Healthwatch Wakefield is Registered Company No. 09907848 and Charity No. 1166797 Registered in England and Wales.
We employ a staff team and are helped by volunteers, and our Board of Trustees oversees and steers our work. They are locally appointed people, also volunteers, who have a passion for improving health and social care for communities in Wakefield District.
They meet on a regular basis to oversee the organisation and ensure that legal requirements, appropriate statutory rules and regulations are followed. They also make sure that work is delivered to plan, and that our allocated money is spent in accordance with the budget and that value for money is achieved.
In accordance with legal requirements, Healthwatch Wakefield produces an Annual Report each year and holds Annual General Meetings.
People’s views come first – especially those who find it hardest to be heard. We champion what matters to you and work with others to find ideas that work. We are independent and committed to making the biggest difference to you.
